I first found out abou this company over two years ago. I am usually up late at night and it was one of those infomercials. Phone to phone communications over the internet. I have already tried computer to computer calls but never phone calls like that. I wasn't thrilled about computer to computer calls. Magic jack worked for awhile and then I started having problem after problem. First it would just go off for no apparent reason. My computer would indicate that there was something wrong with the usb drive that houses the magic jack. I called customer service and they finally agreed to send me another magic jack another replacement for the one I had.I was informed that if I didn't send in the defective one I would be charged. Well I did send in the defective one but I was still charged. I was not all that happy about the situation but the new one worked and when I realized I had been charged for the new one I called to complain and was told they had not recieved the defective one. Until they have the defective one the charges would remain.

When magic jack works its wonderful I love to talk on the phone. I have spent tons of money on long distance and then on the calling cards. I even ran over my minutes on my cell phone more times than I can remember. Thats why as of now I don't have one. Magic Jack worked fine for about three weeks and then it started putting calls on hold or just plain shutting down and then restarting. This went on for months sure I would contact customer service and it would fix but then it would stop working within two weeks. Customer service tried several different times every time I would call. Finally I reached a breaking point I contacted customer service and was flat out cancel this I have had it don't charge my credit card again. The person on the other end said they totally understood but would I be willing to try one more thing or one more time with her. I agreed and she was able to fix a problem that I was having easily. If you every have to reformat your magic jack make sure the label has the word phone .If you do that your problems will be fixed.

I have run across another bug but figured out what it was and just avoid doing it. Make sure you always dial your number on your phone and then always make sure you hang up from your phone not from the computer
